"Earnestly contend...

...FOR THE FAITH THAT WAS ONCE DELIVERED UNTO THE SAINTS"     -JUDE 3

In the early days of the Apostolic Faith work, Jude 3 was prayerfully selected as the motto by which future Christians could safely model their lives. Jude wrote to Early Church believers, “Beloved, when I gave all

diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort

you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 1:3).

Living faith has been contested on many fronts, by many detractors over the ages.  The Book of Jude is a short epistle packed with a good deal of instruction, primarily warning Christians to be on guard against false

teachers and those who would corrupt the faith. Jude noted that some people of his day had already been

led away into error, and he was not delicate when describing those who had deceived them.  We may not face the exact challenges of ages gone by, but nonetheless, to remain  steadfast in the Gospel of Jesus Christ,

we must hold our ground from all that is sinful and unholy.

In our day, scoffers and detractors increase just as the books of Jude and II Peter prophesied.  The admonishment given in Jude 3 is a sure anchor today for those who would please God, just as was  centuries ago.
